The transport sector is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emission globally. In Europe, transport related emissions are already larger than those from the power sector. Moreover, transport emissions are growing quickly, especially in countries like India.
Reducing emissions from transport is therefore a critical element to any country’s decarbonisation roadmap. Road transport represents 85% of all transport emissions. A great deal is already happening. The partners the IKEA Foundation supports in Poland on climate action are moving agendas on green recovery, air quality and transportation, despite a challenging political environment.
We are very excited to open up to the world a discussion about the progress our partners have made so far under these difficult circumstances and the make or break moments that lay ahead.
We suggest this to inspire well as to offer an example for others how different players contribute to the same goals but working from the vantage points of different approaches. Furthermore, we’d like to end the discussion on how our partners can set intentions on 2025 goals and see where their respective contributions can help us get there.
This live discussion is open to everyone, to hopefully inspire others with stories about gained goals and milestones and collaborative examples.
This event is being hosted by the IKEA Foundation. The IKEA Foundation is independent from the retail business with a sole focus on creating brighter lives on a liveable planet through philanthropy and grantmaking. Learn more at www.ikeafoundation.org.
