The Climate Group is organizing a closed-door breakfast discussion on the role of philanthropy in promoting sustainable land use as a key measure to address climate change.
Nature-Based Solutions is one of the nine action areas to be discussed at the UN Secretary General Summit on Climate Action. The Summit, as well as Climate Week NYC, will therefore be the occasion to explore the role of foundation and government grant-making and investment in key areas of sustainable land use (in particular forestry, ecosystems, agriculture and food systems). Following the conclusions of the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land, it is now clear that scaling up investments and commitments in sustainable land use will be a crucial pre-requisite to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement.
We will be joined by Elise Buckle, Senior Advisor to the Nature-Based Solution Facilitator (4SD) for the UN SG Summit and some of our key philanthropic partners. For more information about this event, please contact us at: email@example.com.
