Activating Local Solutions

Join the World Green Building Council, Urban Green Council and Canadian Consulate in New York at a Climate Week NYC invitation-only event exploring the opportunities for businesses and governments in the zero carbon emissions economy of the future.

Buildings represent 70 % of carbon emissions in big cities and are a critical solution to the climate emergency facing us. New construction, existing building stock and embodied emissions from materials and construction must all be addressed in order to achieve a fully decarbonized built environment.

Achieving global climate targets requires local solutions. Hear from leading experts about the opportunities this challenge presents, including incorporating innovative approaches, adapting business models and developing new policy mechanisms.

Participants include Lisa Bate, Chair, World Green Building Council, Cristina Gamboa, CEO, World Green Building Council, John Mandyck, CEO, Urban Green Council Julie Hirigoyen, CEO, UK Green Building Council, Laura Popa, Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislation and Policy, New York City Council, Scot Horst, Founder, Arc Skoru, on behalf of USGBC, Ofer Ben-Dov, Global Sustainability Leader, Armstrong Fluid Technology, and Steven Smith, Executive Director, Multiplex, (Europe, Middle East and Canada)
