In 2015, nations committed in the Paris Agreement to keep global warming well below 2C (striving for 1.5C) and to achieve in the second half of the century a global balance between anthropogenic emissions and sinks. Now, less than two years later, several countries are leading the way by establishing nationally-determined balance years—dates when their net climate impact will be neutral or better. This Climate Advisers and E3G event will bring together the political leaders and policy makers driving this trend forward, as well as experts and thought leaders to share insights from their experience in turning ambitious plans into laws and action.
