The Marketplace of the Future is a new take on the 1939 World's Fair - an experiential immersion into what life will be like when all organizations are working for the betterment of people and planet. The Marketplace is a one-day expo showcasing 50 start-ups that operate with sustainable supply chains, give-back models, and social benefit at their core.
As a cross between shopping bazaar, museum, and celebration, the Marketplace of the Future will include live music, live art, zero-waste catering, guest speakers, immersive VR/AR storytelling, and of course, climate change camaraderie. Upon entering, guests will be “transported” into a sustainable future, surrounded by maps and data visualizations showing that the world is “now powered by 100% renewable energy”.
The Marketplace will be free and open to the public from 12pm-6pm and finish with a ticketed closing event from 6pm-9pm.
This event is part of the Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change program of Climate Week NYC.
